Why CAPTCHA Typing Isn't The Best Way To Make Money Online

So, it's been few years since I started making money online here from Nepal. During this course of time, I have tried a lot of platforms and a lot of ways to make money online from Nepal. And of course, failed a lot of times and succeeded in a few.

There are a lot of ways you can start making money online but particularly, "CAPTCHA Typing" is one of the most popular online jobs. A lot of people even think that it is the only way of making money online.

When people get to know that I make my living out of online money, they immediately ask me if it is "CAPTCHA Typing." But unfortunately, CAPTCHA Typing is not, in fact, the best way you'd want to choose to make money online. So, I thought about writing this article to clear up the misconceptions about this CAPTCHA Typing Online job.

Here in Kathmandu, some people even fall into the trap of "Home Based Online Typing Jobs" Training. One of my friends, who was new in Kathmandu, wanted to do some job to earn his living. So, as he knew that I was doing "Online Job" to make money, he referred to some ad in a newspaper saying "Online Job Training" and went over to talk to them. The previous day, he was asking me about CAPTCHA Typing jobs, So I had given him an introduction to some CAPTCHA Typing Sites, how to work, how to get paid, the payment methods and so on.

So, when he went to those "Online Job Training" guys, they showed him the exact same site that I showed to him and they were asking some money to get the training to work on that site. I was so shocked when I heard this. I mean, they were taking money from people just to create an account in that site (which is Free), set up payment methods(which is also Free) and to work around the UI of the website (which is, of course, free and you can learn it yourself).

This is one of the main reasons why I started this blog, to clear misconceptions about Online Money Making from Nepal and how you can be fooled for something very easy.

Okay, let's get to the main point of this article. Why CAPTCHA typing isn't a good way of making money online?

First off, let's talk about what are CAPTCHAs??

These are called CAPTCHA(Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart). As the full form says, it's just a way to avoid spammers from spamming which involves repeatedly performing the same action automatically using scripts. You might have noticed that when you enter the wrong password while trying to log in to Facebook for a long time, it automatically asks you to enter a CAPTCHA. This is to stop hackers from hacking your Facebook account by guessing passwords using scripts. Of course, a bot cannot read these images as well as we humans do. 

Why does CAPTCHA typing job exist?

Spammers and hackers who are trying to spam or hack into other websites, use these bots and scripts to perform a large number of actions within a short period of time. But the scripts and bots can't solve CAPTCHAs, so they need humans in this part. So, in a nutshell, what these CAPTCHA typing job providing websites do is, they sell your CAPTCHA solving work to those spammers and hackers. 

Here are some of the reasons why CAPTCHA typing is not a good choice to make money online from Nepal.

CAPTCHA Typing is not as easy as you might be thinking.

Although there's no such thing as easy which can help you make money, CAPTCHA typing is not the best choice for beginners. It requires a lot of effort and time. It requires you to be way faster in typing (which you aren't if you are a newbie to Online Money Making field). Even if you are a very good typist with high-speed typing, I will discuss below why it is not worth your skill and time.

It's not fun in long run.

I know that you are excited about making your first dime online, but as the time passes by, you have to have a good reason to continue working. It's just like Steve Jobs said, "your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work." And I know that this isn't about starting a career online or things like that. But, the very reason that the CAPTCHA typing job exists is that it is used in spamming others. So, it's you helping them spamming and harming other websites. While working for a long time, you won't be able to continue working if you don't have a good reason to keep working. If you think money is the only reason, read the next point. 

You won't make the amount of money that you are dreaming of.

A lot of people have this thinking that online job is fun and easy and eventually a huge amount money just from the comfort of your couch. But in reality, it's way harder than you think. Regarding the Payrate of CAPTCHA Typing jobs, it is just around $0.40 per 1000 tasks. But not always stays at that exact rate. Sometimes, it goes up but not more than, $1 or so. But most of the times, it goes lower than that. If we consider that you take 10 seconds on average to do 1 task, and the system takes 3 seconds to load each of the tasks, then as you do the maths, it turns out to be around 3.5 hours to complete 1000 tasks. Which, in turn, means you earned $0.40 in about 3.5 hours, which I don't think is a good deal at all. 

A lot of your time goes waste.

As I have discussed in above point, you will be earning way more working offline in that time period than working online, in case of CAPTCHA Typing.

You can be banned at any time. 

Yes, you read it right. You can be banned at any time. I have also been banned from various CAPTCHA Typing websites without any particular reason, with a significant amount of money gone. The webmasters can ban you from accessing your account for simple and small mistakes if they wish to, and you can do nothing about it. This has happened even in reputable platforms where workers/creators lost their money without any reason. 

Final Words?

The intention of writing this post is not to discourage you from making money online, but to help you choose the right way by telling what's the wrong path that may lead you to the wrong destination. CAPTCHA typing is not a good path to start making money online. I will show you some of the ways that I've been using to make money online from Nepal that are legit and 100% trustworthy in future posts.
